As a representative of traditional Chinese crafts, porcelain witnessed the whole Chinese history since its birth on the Eastern Han Dynasty (about 2000-years ago). and it experienced the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty and the peak of the Song Dynasty.

In the Song Dynasty, the "five famous kilns" were formed, including Ge kiln, Guan kiln, Ru kiln, Jun kiln and Ding kiln, each one with its characteristics. In the Ming Dynasty, Jingdezhen became the center of porcelain production; blue and white porcelain and five-colorful porcelain were most popular articles. The official kiln system in the Qing Dynasty was perfect, and the porcelain technology was exquisite and rich in varieties. Private kiln, such as Jun kiln and Dehua porcelain, also appeared its own characteristics.
